Experts of exiles
Performing the lexicon
--------------------------
We imagine the installation space as a territory where we can experience movements and feelings of being in exile. The screen reflects on dfferent stages of the state of mind of the experts of exile.
We are trying to connect words from the lexicon, gestures and the avatars that will react to the people present on this territory.
We identified three categories of words : UNSAFE, SAFE and CHANGE. We have connected the words from the lexicon that we thought relevant to these categories.
We used the pictures taken during the workshop with the students from Molenbeek Formation to create three series of movements expressing these three categories of words.
The category UNSAFE is represented by a bending movement. SAFE is expressed by embracing yourself with your arms. CHANGE corresponds to a movement of liberation, opening wide your arms in the air.
In parallel, we worked with Python to be able to combine randomly the words that appear in each category so as to create almost a new language. Is this new language not enlarging the experience of exile for each person entering this territory. The association of words propose additional layers of experience of feelings and meanings.
The idea is that one person enter the 'territory". By his presence and by his movement, he activates an avatar and the list 'UNSAFE'. If a second person enters the space, he connects to the first person, and together they activate the list of 'Change'. This list will be merged with the 'UNSAFE' list to create new combinations. So far, we haven't decided yet if the second person (or the two together???) will need to perform the gesture of 'Change' to activate the list. At least 3 people will be needed to activate the list of 'Safe', merged into the new list created by the merged lists of 'Unsafe' and 'Change'. After a while, the words of 'UNSAFE' category will progressively disapear from the territory. This whole process starts again as soon as one person is left alone on the territory.

Reading space
An attempt to make a tool to write in a 2d and half space in order to experiment a relation between a particular space and a literature work, with new way of reading.
We use a blank world map where cities names are replaced by words. You can zoom and pan. Zooming is making words (dis-)appearing.
The challenge is to keep text (at least words combinations) readable (relativly), and both non-linear, multi-dimensionnal and density-variable.
For this purpose, to ways (with in-between degrees) : generative language, or human writing
And this is the crucial point where we stop our work (at this time!)
